This resonates SO MUCH! Especially feeling listless about a bottomless list of essay ideas....to continue the book-baby metaphor, mine had a similarly long gestation and was born around the same time as yours. Glad it's not just me - thank you for writing this Christina. I feel seen...!
So Funny/Not funny! You and your book are total gems. The copy in our house is a beloved companion to my early mornings. And our other copy lives in the Library at Kroka, which if you don’t know them, I hope you’ll meet one day.
Started My Oceans on the flight home to Nairobi after a week of visiting close friends back in the states (bought My Oceans for the friend who will most appreciate it ❤️). Not on page 147 yet, and I know I’ll get there.
Love that the book flew to Nairobi! Wish I could see through its eyes. Thanks for sharing Becca! I should probably go look at page 147 now myself as I just picked a random page for that example! ;)
I've been wanting to tell you that I actually fedexed my copy of My Oceans in my sea bag up to be loaded onto the boat I'm shipping out on in June for a survey in the Gulf of Alaska. It seemed like the perfect thing to read while at sea.

I feel seen by this comment! Thanks for reaching across the abyss for this hug.

Ah, I love this visual. Thank you Erik. So nice to imagine my book being held with such care. ❤️🥰
Have 2 extra copies with me for NBO-based friends too.

I wasn’t taking it too literally. Book(s) and I have landed safely back in Kenya.

Wow! I love that my book is tackling my bucket list without me!
